XXVI Nureyev Festival will be dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the birth of the great dancer

In this Sunday, March 17, 2013 the world community will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the birth of the XX century dancer Rudolf Nureyev (1938-1993).

XXVI International Festival of Classical Ballet, which is going be held in Kazan on the stage of the M.Dzhalil Tatar Academic Theatre from 14 to 27 May  will be dedicated memorable date.

" Flying Tartar, "" Genghis Khan of ballet ", frenetic and unique Rudolf Nureyev their creativity in many ways changed the performance culture of classical dance and greatly influenced our understanding of the role of personality in art. 

Shortly before his death, Rudolf Nureyev first came to Kazan at the invitation of the director of the theater of opera and ballet Raufal Mukhametzyanov on May 21, 1992 he performed in the ballet festival stage Tatar Opera. Maestro conducted the performance of "The Nutcracker," and after the presentation has agreed to ensure that Kazan forum named after him. 

Participants XXVI International Festival of Classical Ballet named after Rudolf Nureyev, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the dancer, become the acknowledged masters of the world stage, the soloists of the leading theaters of Russia and Europe. The Forum program will have 9 performances and 3 concerts.
