Composers Competition in honor of the 300th anniversary of the monastery declared at the Alexander Nevsky Monastery

Competition composers declared in the Alexander Nevsky Lavra of St. Petersburg in honor of the 300th anniversary of the monastery. The anniversary is celebrated this year, its culmination in the fall, the results of the contest will be summed, said the organizers today

Musical wreath will be presented to Lavra by Russian and foreign composers of liturgical and secular works.

Separate nomination is highlighted for harmonization of ancient church chants. The competition aims to promote the revival of interest in the genre of Sacred Music, the identification of new names. 

All work involved in the competition under the motto, their authors are unknown to the jury, which contributes to an objective assessment.

works selected  by the Jury will be performed by the chamber choir "Rossika" under the control of Honored Artist of Russia Valentina Kopylova-Panchenko and festive Cathedral Choir of the Alexander Nevsky Monastery under the direction of the honored worker of culture of Russia Valery Ryazanov
