Conductor Stanislaw Gorkovenko is 75

January 30 conductor Stanislaw Gorkovenko celebrates 75 birthday.

People's Artist of Russia Stanislav Gorkovenko, who celebrates his 75 birthday on this day will invite audience today in the Great Hall of the Philharmonic to the musical journey through their favorite works of different eras. Maestro will rise for the Governor's orchestra conductor's stand, which is run for more than three decades.

The native of Baku, Stanislav Gorkovenko studied there in the conservatory at the conductor and choral department, where his mentor was Alexander Yurlov himself. A first group was conducted by the ensemble of the Baku district in which young Magomayev made his debut as a soloist. For many years the maestro worked as chief conductor of the Leningrad Music Hall, was the conductor of the play "Beautiful Helen", "Mr. X", "Wedding with General" at the Theater of Musical Comedy. Under the direction of Gorkovenko recorded over 75 LPs and 50 CDs. He toured the country, in Europe, Asia, America, gave concerts with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, the Finnish Philharmonic, the Orchestra of the Paris Theater "Olympia." In the anniversary program, along with works by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Glazunov, Liadov, Khachaturian, Kara Karayev the audience will hear  the music from the ballet "Anyuta" by Valery Gavrilin.
