The Oxford Lieder Festival held in 12 October, 2012 - 27 October, 2012  is considered to one of the most important annual celebration of song in the United Kingdom.

Concerts are held in the cherished atmosphere of the Faculty of Music's  Holywell Music Room, the oldest custom-built concert hall in Europe, which opened its doors to the public for the first time in 1748.

The 11th Oxford Lieder Festival will feature Alice Coote and Christopher Purves, who make their first appearances at the Festival. Among the participants familiar   to the public there are Wolfgang Holzmair, Roderick Williams and James Gilchrist.
